The Best Picks for CFB Championship Weekend

It’s championship week, which means this is the last Saturday with double digit college football games. It’s a exciting yet sad day for me and many other football fans. I went 10-9 last week but I could’ve been a lot better. My record is now 97-81.

Northern Illinois Vs Buffalo -3: These two teams aren’t the best in the MAC. I firmly believe my Ohio Bobcats are the most talented team in this conference but because they blew two games to Northern Illinois and Miami (OH), they aren’t playing in this game. I’ll ride with Buffalo winning this game, I’ve been very impressed with the Bulls defense this season. Everyone knows Tyree Jackson, Anthony Johnson, and KJ Osbourn, but this Buffalo defense is legit good (Except when they play Ohio). Buffalo has a top 50 defense and statistically has one of the best in the conference. With more playmakers and a defense that’s just as talented as the Huskies, I think Buffalo rolls to a MAC championship, especially considering Northern Illinois has fallen the past two weeks.

Utah Vs Washington -4.5: Washington dominated all facets of the game against Washington State and I expect this to happen again. The Huskies are simply the class of the PAC 12 in my opinion. I know I trash Jake Browning a ton and he had a couple bad turnovers last week, but it didn’t matter. Utah is banged up, they don’t have a lot of healthy skill position players and Washington dominated the first matchup on the road, winning by two touchdowns. This is one of my favorite plays of the season, ride the Huskies.

Marshall At Virginia Tech under 51: I got burned in believing in some 5-6 teams last week so, I’m not making the same mistake taking Virginia Tech. What I am taking is an under in this game. Marshall has the 7th ranked defense in the nation according to S&P+! If Virginia Tech has only scored more than 30 points once in the past seven games, I doubt the Hokies expose the most vaunted defense in Conference USA.

Stanford -3 At Cal: I originally picked the Cardinal when the game was scheduled two weeks ago, and my opinion hasn’t changed in that time frame.

Alabama Vs Georgia +13: I think Georgia is the second best team in the country, so I absolutely love this pick. I wouldn’t even be opposed to a little ML pick with the Bulldogs in a heavy underdog role with a plan on hedging mid-game. Alabama is awesome and shouldn’t be taken lightly at all, but Georgia has won all but one of their games by two touchdowns or more. They haven’t been challenged except for one Saturday afternoon in Baton Rouge. If it wasn’t for Alabama being so dominant, I’m pretty sure many would be talking about the dominance of the Bulldogs this season.

Clemson At Pitt +28.5: Clemson’s defense looked very leaky last week against South Carolina and Pitt has looked better the closing stretch until a rough final regular season game against Miami. I also think Clemson hasn’t been consistent enough to be a four touchdown favorite in the ACC title game despite the fact that the ACC is ranked last among the P5 conferences according to S&P+.
