The Top 20 College Fantasy Football Wide Receivers for 2019

Wide receivers can be the hardest position to project. So many ups and downs come throughout the season because of the varying volume of targets they receive. I’m a big “draft you a STUD wide receiver early” kind of guy. I like to have that balance early in season. Receivers like Corey Davis, Trent Taylor, and Andy Isabella carried their teams to successful seasons. With that, here are my top 20 wide receivers heading into the season.

 20. Warren Jackson, Colorado State

Jackson had a pedestrian season with only 32 catches for 405 yards and four touchdowns. He is in my top 20 for a few reasons. He’s a huge wideout at 6’6” 220 pounds and because of his size should be a red-zone target. Colorado State has pumped out fantasy gold for years, including the likes of Preston Williams, Michael Gallup (two seasons), and Rashard Higgins (two seasons). Of the last five years, the worst year was 1,061 yards and the best was 1,750. I’ll take a 6’6” wideout with that kind of upside any day of the week.

Here are the top 15 running backs for 2019 for those who play College Fantasy Football

Since the year 2000, the game of college football has changed dramatically. With more and more offenses going with a spread attack, 16 of the last 18 Heisman Trophy winners have been quarterbacks with the other two were running backs. Even with that being so lopsided the running back is still a key position in having a competitive fantasy football team.

  1. Chuba Hubbard, Oklahoma State

There’s huge potential here taking over for Justice Hill. Oklahoma State has pumped out big-time fantasy running backs in recent seasons and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. When Hubbard took over after Hill was injured, he was basically “the man” in the Cowboys’ running game over the last four games of the season. He had 79 carries for 425 yards and five touchdowns. He is in for a big year.

10. Adrian Martinez QB Nebraska Cornhuskers

Martinez will be going into his sophomore year this year and let’s face it, there was some serious growing pains in year one. He seemed to really struggle at times last year. That being said, his athletic ability can not be ignored. He put up decent numbers for a true freshman on a poor team; 224 of 347 for 2,617 yards and 17 TDs with 8 INTs. What really makes Martinez a stud for fantasy purposes is his legs. He ran 140 times (2nd on team) for 629 yards and 8 TDs. I see both of those numbers improving dramatically this year and look for Martinez to have a fantastic sophomore campaign. (more…)
