30. Chicago White Sox (21-41) Previous Ranking – 26
Chicagoans continue to claim this White Sox squad is built for the future, which I hope has some truth to it; the present isn’t looking to hot… Pitching is the main problem of this ballclub, but it also could be time for some coaching changes. The long season continues for White Sox fans.
Spring training is officially underway. Teams are getting in as many reps as possible to prepare for the long season ahead, and we begin to wonder who will run the league once the games are rolling. Here are my opening Power rankings for the season; I will update this as each month of baseball passes by.
30. Miami Marlins
The Marlins were 77-85 last year WITH the NL MVP, Giancarlo Stanton. They are now without him. Simple as that. The Marlins will struggle.
29. San Diego Padres
The Padres haven’t seen the postseason since 2006 or won a playoff series since 1998… Neither of those stats will change. Long season to come for the Padres. See The Final 28 Here!
The 2018-2019 season of America’s pastime is soon approaching and I couldn’t be more excited. The last two seasons, and specifically the World Series, have been more thrilling than ever, and the new wave of young stars in the league are starting to pave their way to greatness.
This season should be just as intriguing, considering the blockbuster trades this offseason. With Stanton in New York, are the Yankees the favorite? Or can the Astros repeat their historic run? In the NL can the Nationals finally make a run to the championship game, or will the Cubs rebound from somewhat of a let down last year? With the season around the corner many questions have begun to be asked.
