Before Duke was beaten by Gonzaga the next night, Auburn made them look like they definitely weren’t unbeatable. Duke won 78-72 but Auburn definitely could have won. If I were an Auburn fan I would have been extremely frustrated. Auburn could have pulled off a memorable upset but didn’t because they didn’t box out, threw dumb alley-oops, and tried to match Duke’s style of play. Nobody has the athleticism to come close to beating Duke at their own game.
Despite these repeated mistakes, the Tigers still looked good. Jared Harper proved that he is among the best point guards in the country. He’s an excellent shooter and passer and finished with 22 points and 6 assists while shooting 6-10 from three-point range. Austin Wiley impressed me off the bench. The Game is finally here, but this year is a little different than years past. Ohio State will be walking into this matchup as about a four point underdog against the fourth ranked Wolverines. Michigan has looked far more impressive than Ohio State this season with their only blemish being a seven point loss at Notre Dame, the third ranked team in the country. The Wolverines have been firing on all cylinders this season and their “Revenge Tour” has victimized Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Penn State, with the last target being the Buckeyes. Ohio State faces the Michigan Wolverines in Columbus for one of the biggest games of the college football season. The winner of this matchup on Saturday will likely win the Big Ten Championship and secure a spot in the College Football Playoff. The Wolverines have been hot lately, and the Buckeyes are still trying to make a run at a Playoff spot after their loss at Purdue. The spread has Michigan as the favorite to win by 4.5, but Ohio State will surely give the Wolverines a battle at home.(more…)
Uh… I went 1-7-2 last week, that brings my record to 87-72 on the year which is tough after starting off so hot. But nonetheless we shall bounce back on rivalry week!
Colorado State At Air Force -14: Colorado State is coming off a heartbreaking loss to Utah State after a potential game winning touchdown was taken off the board because of an illegal touching penalty.
