The Rise of the Golden Knights

From a faint idea on paper to a meteoric rise that has them sitting at 2nd in the West, the Las Vegas Golden Knights have captured the hearts of hockey fans young and old, and are looking to push for the Stanley Cup in their very first season in the league

What made the Knights a contender in their inaugural season was the NHL trying to build a solid team from the beginning instead of having another situation like the Coyotes. The Coyotes were  an expansion team that came into the league and struggled greatly. What the league decided for the expansion draft was the Knights could take players off of any team with some exceptions. The Knights used this “Golden” opportunity to build a contender from the jump.

NHL Midseason

With the NHL season at the midway point, the top of the leaderboards are as bunched up as ever and the top of each division is extremely competitive, hopefully giving the fans some late-season playoff picture shakeups. As of right now, each division has at least one serious Cup contender; here’s how it looks!

Atlantic

Tampa Bay Lighting

The Lightning have been “lights” out this year, playing with speed and offensive flare. Lead by their captain, Steven Stamkos, the youthful Lightning have a lot of promise come playoff time. Their only concern… lack of experience.

Boston Bruins

Boston is one of the hottest teams in the NHL, maybe second to Philadelphia. Unlike the Lightning, Boston is one of the more experienced teams in the Eastern Conference. With Chara back on defense and Tukka Rask in net, the Bruins have a recipe for success. Read Full Article Here!
